Week 4 Top Dogs & Down and Out Teams

Week 4 Top Dogs & Down and Out Teams

By Josh Olson

                               Top Dogs

Atlanta Falcons - A team that everyone thought would be battling for the first overall pick in the upcoming draft is 2-2 and second in their division. The pesty Falcons are not winning pretty but they are winning. Drake London is looking like a number one receiver and Marcus Mariota is doing enough to win games. This team isn't even losing badly, both their losses were by four points or less. The Falcons now travel to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Las Vegas Raiders - Finally, a win! Josh McDaniels got his first win of the season against the Denver Broncos. Josh Jacobs took this team on his back rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns. This team could easily be 4-0 so hopefully, this is the start of a winning streak. The Raiders have a big challenge in week five when they travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.

New York Jets - This team just never quits. With 13 minutes left in the 4th quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers, they were down 20-10. They scored 14 points to in their comeback to win 24-20. Breece Hall had his best game to date with 17 carries for 66 yards and a touchdown. Zach Wilson made his return and threw for 252 yards and a touchdown.  The Jets take on the Miami Dolphins in week five.

                             Down and out

Denver Broncos - No one knows what this team is... They lose to the Seattle Seahawks in week 1, win in weeks 2 and 3 against the Texans and 49ers, then lose to the Las Vegas Raiders. The offence has no identity. They are scoring 16.5 pts per game when they have Russell Wilson at quarterback, and a duo of Willims and Gordon at running back. Unfortunately, they did lose Williams to an ACL for the season. They have great receivers in Sutton and Jeudy but only putting up an average of 16 pts. This team is lucky to be 2-2. The Broncos take on the Indianapolis Colts in week five.

Cleveland Browns - This team makes it so hard on itself. Another team that could easily be 4-0, and losing to the New York Jets by a point and then losing to the Atlanta Falcons by 3 is a tough pill to swallow. Yes, they are missing key players like Myles Garret but they were playing a team that again, people think will be picking in the top 3 in the upcoming draft. The Browns take on the Los Angeles Chargers in week five.

Pittsburgh Steelers - The Pittsburgh Steelers are going through a funk. Usually, when the offence is stale the defence picks up the slack but ever since they've lost TJ Watt - the face of their defence - in week one, they have lost their mojo. And that's not good when you've brought in a new quarterback into the fold. But if you want some optimism, it's that the Kenny Pickett era will begin in week five when they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills. A monumental task for someone's first career start.
