Week 13 Top Dogs & Down and Out Teams

Top Dogs

San Francisco 49ers- Well right now times look gloomy after losing your starting (back up turn starter) quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo with a broken foot for the rest of the season. Brock Purdy led the San Francisco 49ers past the Miami Dolphins 33 to 17.  When he came in for Jimmy at the end of the first quarter, he threw for 210 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. Christian McCaffrey led the team in rushing and receiving. He had seventeen carries for sixty-six yards. He also had eight catches for eighty yards and a touchdown. The defence once again was amazing! The defence had three sacks and made Tua hurry his throws which made him throw three interceptions, one leading to a touchdown.  The 49er's defence is making history but if this team is going to win a super bowl this year, they will have to be even better after losing their quarterback. The 49ers will be hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 14.

Cincinnati Bengals- The Cincinnati Bengals has the Kansas City Chiefs number. Joe Burrow and the Bengals beat the Chiefs 27-24. The Bengals were going into the fourth quarter down a touchdown, and they shut out the chiefs and put up ten unanswered points to win! Burrow threw 286 yards and two touchdowns. Samaje Perine rushed twenty-one times for 106 yards. Ja’marr Chase caught the ball seven times for ninety-seven yards. The Bengals played good defence against a tough opponent and even sacked Patrick Mahomes twice and caused a fumble on Travis Kelce. The Bengals host the Cleveland Browns in week 14.

Las Vegas Raiders- The Raiders are hitting on all cylinders at the right time! The Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 27-20, exploding in the second half with seventeen points. Derek Carr threw sixteen completions for 250 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Josh Jacob carries on with his career year with twenty-six carries for 144 yards and a touchdown. Davante Adams had another monster game with eight catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns. The defence made life hard for Justin Herbert, stacking him five times. The Raiders are on a three-game winning streak and look to keep it going when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams in week 14.

Down and Out

Miami Dolphins- Is this team pretender or did they just have an off-game? The Miami Dolphins lost 33-17 to the San Francisco 49ers and we're having to play with their third-string quarterback. Tua Tagovailoa did not look like the guy we saw earlier in the season. He looked rattled, throwing 295 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. One that was returned for a touchdown. He was also sacked three times. His run game was nonexistent. Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. Combine for eight carries and thirty-three yards. Tyreek Hill had a good game with nine catches for 146 yards and a touchdown. The defence had four sacks and a pick but still couldn't rattle the spirit of the third-string quarterback. The Dolphins look to bounce back when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers in week 14.

Tennessee Titans- Coming off a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in week 13, they took on the Philadelphia Eagles where they got dismantled by them. They lost 35-10 and got torched by a familiar face in AJ Brown. He torched the defence with eight catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns. If only they could figure out how to keep this guy in the building. The offence could not get rolling with Ryan Tannehill throwing fourteen completions for 141 yards and a touchdown. He also led the rushing attack with three carries for thirty-four yards. The Eagles kept Derrick Henry at bay with eleven carries for thirty yards. Chigoziem Okonkwo led the receiving attack with four catches for sixty-eight yards. Again, if only they could have kept Brown in the building maybe Jon Robinson, the GM, would still have a job. The Titans look to figure things out and get back into the winner column when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 14.

Los Angeles Chargers- This team just knows how to collapse in football games. Justin Herbert put up Justin Herbert's numbers with twenty-eight completions for 335 yards and a touchdown. The running game could not get going tho with Austin Ekeler rushed ten times for thirty-five yards. Keenan Allen had six catches for eighty-eight yards and a touchdown. The defence only got one pick but they let Davante Adams catch all over them, they had no answer for him, and they gave up their lead and we're playing catch-up the whole game. For a head coach that was defence first type of guy, his defence has been poor since becoming a head coach. Hopefully, they can forget about this game and turn their attention to when they host the Miami Dolphins in week 14.
