Week 3: Top Dogs & Down and Out Teams
By Josh Olson
Top Dogs
Indianapolis Colts- A week ago they were on the “down and out” list due to the humiliating loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars but now they find themselves on the top dog list with a victory against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Colts were in desperation mode and they took care of business. Hoping that momentum carries over when they take on the Tennessee Titans in week four.
Jacksonville Jaguars- Another week and another spot in the top dog category for the Jaguars. This is the second week in a row that they had a statement game, this time against the Los Angeles Chargers. They won the game with a score of 38-10. I guess this is what it is like when you have a competent coach that knows the NFL. The Jaguars travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles.
Miami Dolphins- The Dolphins hosted the Buffalo Bills with first place on the line in the division and they delivered a victory with a score of 21-19. There was a tad of controversy surrounding Tua's concussion injury, but we're not here to talk about that... We are here to highlight the Dolphins remaining undefeated, and travel to Cincinnati to play the Bengals.
Down and Out
Kansas City Chiefs- Mark this one up as looking past your opponent. The Chiefs were taking on a team that just got blown out a week ago. In their previous 10 matches against each other, the Chiefs have won 9/10 times. It just happens to be that this week was the time they lost. Look for them to bounce back against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Los Angeles Chargers- The Chargers are dealing with some injuries to key players but they didn't even show up to play this game and they were playing at home. They travel to Houston to take on the Texans for their week four matchup.
San Francisco 49ers- This game is the reason you don't win looking at the roster sheet. The 49er's defense held the broncos to 11 pts but the offence and coaching staff gifted the broncos 5 pts by making dumb mistakes. Sloppy plays by Jimmy Garoppolo hurt them. Hopefully, they can get better and look to get a win against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football.
