Week 10 Top Dogs & Down and Out Teams
By Josh Olson
Top Dog
Minnesota Vikings- What. A. Game. Two juggernauts went at it in Buffalo and the Minnesota Vikings came out on top with a 33-30 overtime victory. The Vikings went into halftime down fourteen points. The offence woke up in the second half to score twenty points to Buffalo six to force overtime. Kirk Cousin threw for 357 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. Dalvin Cook rushed fourteen times for 119 yards and a touchdown. Justin Jefferson had ten catches for 193 yards and a touchdown. The Vikings defence made life difficult for Josh Allen and the offence causing two sacks for nineteen yards lost, two interceptions thrown, and two fumbles lost. The Viking team was hitting on all cylinders and looked to keep the momentum riding high when they host the Dallas Cowboys in week 11.
Detroit Lions- Don't look now but the Detroit Lions are ok a two-game winning streak after just beating the Chicago Bears 31-30. Jared Goff put up reasonable numbers with 236 yards and a touchdown but most importantly there were no interceptions thrown. Jamaal Williams rushed sixteen times for fifty-nine yards and a touchdown. Amon-Ra St. Brown leads the team with ten catches for 119 yards. The lion's defence got a pick
six from Jeff Okudah and also racked up three sacks for a loss of seventeen yards. The lions look to keep the train rolling when they travel to New York to play the Giants in week 11.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on a two-game winning streak, coming off a win against the Seattle Seahawks in Germany! They won 21-16 with Tom Brady throwing for 258 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Rachaad White had twenty-two carries for 105 yards and Chris Godwin led the receiving core with six catches for seventy-one and a touchdown. The Buccaneer's defence got three sacks on Geno Smith. Tom Brady and the buccaneers are on the bye in week 11 but when they return to action in week 12 they will be traveling to take on the Cleveland Browns.
Down and Out
Dallas Cowboys- I get teams to have hiccups during the regular season and anyone can win any week but for the Dallas Cowboys, who was coming into this game with a top 3 defence and going up against the Green bay Packers that had been on a five-game losing streak, to lose 31-28 in overtime. The Packers don't have a wide receiver in the top thirty. The Cowboys went into the fourth quarter up fourteen points and squander the lead away. Dak Prescott threw for 265 yards, three touchdowns and two picks. Tony Pollard rushed for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ceedee Lamb caught eleven catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns so what went wrong? The defence took their pedal off the floor and key Aaron Rogers to get back into the game. The oline for the cowboys gave up two sacks and Dak threw two picks. If you give Roger life, he might just take it and win the game. The cowboys look to bounce back when they travel to take on the Minnesota Vikings in week 11.
Philadelphia Eagles- The streak is over! Everyone thought it would end but the team that ended it... No one saw that! The Washington Commanders took down the Eagles 32-21. What went wrong for the Eagles... Was it more of them not taking their opponent seriously? Jalen Hurts threw for 175 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick. Miles Sanders had twelve carries for fifty-four yards. Quez Watkins led the receiver with four catches for eight yards. The Eagles kept shooting themselves in the foot by taking dumb penalties and giving up a fumble that was taken back for a touchdown. The oline gave up three sacks and Hurts threw a pick. The Eagles look to rebound when they travel to play the Indianapolis Colts in week 11.
Los Angeles Rams- Welcome to the gong show, the Los Angeles Rams have lost yet again! That is a three-game losing streak and the latest loss came at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals, 27-17. Both teams started their backups and John Wolford threw 212 yards for a touchdown, a pick and lost a fumble. Cam Akers was terrible on the day, rushing six times for twenty-two yards. Tyler Higbee caught eight catches for seventy-three yards. The line gave up two sacks for a loss of eighteen yards. The defence, who got three sacks, could not catch a break since their offence couldn't stay on the field. This team is looking like they are still riding the high of a Superbowl win that found use a draft pick or two but hey, “F*ck them picks.” This team returns to action against the New Orleans Saints in week 11.
