Week 9 Top Dog & Down and Out Teams!

Top Dog

New York Jets- Coming off a disappointing loss to the New England Patriots last week, the Jets turn their attention to the Buffalo Bills in week nine. People were thinking that the Cinderella story would start to become a distant memory and the Jets would come back down to earth at the start of a two-game losing streak but the Jets proved us wrong! They beat the Bills 20-17, taking second place in the division and showing the world that you can't count this team out! Zach Wilson threw for 154 yards and a touchdown while Michael Carter had twelve carries for seventy-six yards and a touchdown. Garrett Wilson leads all Jets receivers with eight catches for ninety-two yards. The defense made Josh Allen look like 2018 Josh Allen, sacking him five times and picking him off twice. The Jets get a well deserved rest when they go on their bye week but will have to prepare for a rematch with the New England Patriots in week 11.

Detroit Lions- The butt of all jokes, the laughing stock of the Nfl, and the free space on your team bingo card is what the Detroit Lions are mostly on any Sunday, but not this SundayThis Sunday they took down the Green Bay Packers in a 15-9 victory! Don't get me wrong, the Lion's offence didn't put up huge numbers but they did enough. Jared Goff threw for 137 yards, two touchdowns, and one pick. Jamaal Williams carried the balk twenty-four times for eighty-one yards. Amon-Ra St. Brown was the lead receiver with four catches for fifty-five yards. The Lion's defence was the focal point of this victory when they picked off Aaron Rodgers three times with two of these hem coming in the red zone and also

sacked once for an eight-yard loss. The Lions travel to take on the Chicago Bears in week 10 looking for their third victory on the season.

Cincinnati Bengals- The Cincinnati Bengals put on a show against the Carolina Panthers when they thump them 42-21. Joe Burrow put up ok numbers with 206 yards and a touchdown but it was on the back of Joe Mixon, who rushed for 153 yards and four rushing touchdowns. He also had four catches for fifty-eight yards and a touchdown. The lead receiver on the day was Tee Higgins with seven catches for sixty yards. The Bengals defence picked Baker Mayfield, who came in for a struggling PJ Walker, twice and also caused a fumble loss. The Bengals go into their bye week off a dominant win but when they return, they travel to take on a division foe in the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 11.

Down and Out

Green Bay Packers- I believe this is a new record with a team making the “down and out” list for the fourth time and third time in a row! I think the Packers have hit rock bottom. They lost to the Detroit Lions 15-9 even though Aaron Rogers threw for 291 yards with one touchdown but that was countered with three picks, two of which were in the red zone. Again, not having a star receiver is coming back to bite them in the butt. The Packers are hopeful that they can stop the losing skid when they host the Dallas Cowboys in week ten.

Indianapolis Colts- The Indianapolis Colts could not have had the worst span of three days starting with the loss to the New England Patriots 26-3, where Sam Ehlinger threw for 103 yards and a pick. He also got sacked nine times! Then they fired the head coach, Frank Reich, after four and half seasons and replaced him with Jeff Saturday. Yeah, the Jeff Saturday that played center for them from 1999-2011. Jeff Saturday that has never had a coaching gig in the college or Nfl game ever! Things are about to get wild and we are here for the ride! The Colts travel to take on the Las Vegas Raiders in week ten.

Las Vegas RaidersThe Raiders lead at the half twenty to ten on the back of Davante Adams. He caught ten catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Derek Carr couldn't connect anymore with Adams in the second half. It was almost like two different quarterbacks played this game. Also The Raider's defence tho let the Jaguars get back in the game in the second half when they gave up seventeen unanswered points. The Raiders hope to bounce back in week ten when they host the Indianapolis Colts in a battle of bottom-feeder teams.
